Brett Blair is the founder and owner of Sermons.com which has the largest subscriber base of any sermon and worship prep service in the world. The website offers annual memberships and clergy from all denominations use the service from 90 countries. An email newsletter currently reaches 75,000 ministers. He served as a pastor in the United Methodist Church for 13 years before turning his attention to writing and editing Sermons.com full time.
A graduate of Yale Divinity School Brett has authored two books of children's sermons: Children’s Sermons A-Z and The Big Influence of Small Things. His latest, a series called The Creator's Toy Chest, which includes a book on the Creation Story by the same name, with three additional volumes—An Ark in the Dark, Big Shot Sling Shot, and Dan for Dinner, published by Baker Books in March '2018.
In addition to the M.Div., Brett has an M.A. and B.A. in New Testament Literature. He has worked in radio and television before responding to the call to ministry. While serving in a rural church in Tennessee during the advent of the internet in the 90s, Brett realized this medium could be a powerful tool to resource pastors in way never before possible. Since then, Sermons.com has broadened its offerings to include multimedia, stewardship, and children’s resources. Brett has also developed a social networking site for the church called Discipleship.com.
Brett was born in Memphis TN and now lives in Sarasota FL with his Wife Cyndi. They have three children: Hannah who is studying at the Ringling College of Art and Design and Brett Jr. and Nathan who are tennis prodigies being coached by Michael Brandon and Brian de Villiers under the direction of Nick Bollettieri.
