Ed Underwood's passion to live and encourage others to maximize the grace of God in their lives comes from his unique perspective. Ed came to Christ during the Jesus Movement revival of the 1960s and now pastors the historic Church of the Open Door in Glendora, California. Before becoming a pastor, he served as a firefighter for the U.S. Forest Service and an officer in the U.S. Army, and today he lives with a chronic lymphoma that nearly took his life in 2000. Ed’s first book, When God Breaks Your Heart (2008) chronicled that journey. His second book, Reborn to Be Wild (2010) is an insider's view of the Jesus Movement—the revival that brought him to Jesus—and a call to revival-minded Christians of all generations. His latest, The Trail: A Tale about Discovering God's Will (Tyndale, 2014) is an enchanting, beautifully crafted allegory exploring the mysterious process of God's will.
Ed and his lovely wife Judy live in Southern California and have three grown children and nine grandchildren.
