Mark Strong


Dr. Mark Strong is foremost a lover and follower of Jesus Christ.  He holds several degrees, including an Associates Degree from Portland Community College, a B.A. in Speech Communications from Portland State University, a Masters Degree in Biblical Studies from Western Evangelical Seminary and a Doctorate of Ministry Degree in Leadership from George Fox Seminary (2003).  In addition, he serves on the Board of Regents of George Fox Seminary and speaks at colleges, schools, and Seminaries.

Mark and his wife Marla have served as the Senior Pastors of Life Change Christian Center in Portland Oregon since 1988. Life Change, located in the heart of Portland Oregon, is a multi-ethnic church that is passionate about sharing the love of Jesus, laboring for personal, social, and spiritual transformation in the community and city. Mark has received numerous awards from the Christian Community, City Government, and other agencies.

Mark has traveled extensively throughout the United Stated and the nations of the world.  The scope of his ministry includes, conducting evangelistic crusades, equipping church leaders, men’s conferences, speaking at general conferences, empowering local churches and pastors, helping the needy, and showing the love of Jesus to people where ever God opens doors. He provides pastoral support to many pastors and loves the local church, and with his wife, hosts a radio broadcast and television program called Life Change.

Mark's latest book, The Divine Merger: What Happens When Jesus Collides with Your Community, is due to release with Inter Varsity Press in March 2016.

Mark and his wife Marla have been married for 25 years. They have four children.
