Tim Mackie is a professor of Old Testament at Western Seminary, one of the co-creators of The Bible Project, and a teaching pastor at Door of Hope church in Portland. He’s been compelled by Jesus and fascinated with his Jewish heritage ever since he became a Christian at 20 years old through an urban outreach ministry to skateboarders in Portland, called Skate Church.
He immersed himself in the world of biblical studies and languages at Multnomah University and Western Seminary and eventually completed a PhD in Hebrew and Jewish Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
His greatest passion and privilege is to help people grasp the beautiful and compelling story of the Scriptures and how they lead to Jesus.
Tim is married to Jessica, and together they’re raising two little boys, Roman and August, in the wonderful city of Portland, Oregon.
